Boxing analysis for top fights this weekend

1 bouts on tap tonight on ESPN2, taking place at the Little Creek Casino Resort, Shelton, WA.  There was a second fight scheduled to be televised, but one boxer showed up 17.5 lbs over contract weight!

The headliner: 10 rounds, featherweights: Rico Ramos (21-2-0, 11 KOs) v  Oscar Gonzalez (20-2-0, 14 KOs)

Here are “Suavecitos” ‘s cycles:

Not too good. Feeling something of a quiet surge physically but an uphill battle all the way. Overall he appears and feels very weak.

As for “Finito” Gonzalez:

More of a mixed bag to be sure. Coming out of a brief low, his punches are weaking, but he’ll land his share and still outclass his opponent. He has a lot of heart tonight as well.

Late round TKO for Gonzalez.

Now for a bonus Saturday fight. 12-rounds for bantamweights Nonito Donaire (31-1, 20 KOs) vs Guillermo Rigondeaux (11-0, 8 KOs). Donaire holds the WBO super bantamweight and The Ring magazine junior featherweight  title, while Rigondeaux owns the WBA super world super bantamweight (?) title.

Donaire is 10-0 with 7 KOs in both world title fights and against former or current world titlists.  Here are his cycles: Not a good look for him. His cycles closely resembles those of Rico Ramos.

Let’s see if Rigondeaux “El Chacal” has better numbers:

Not much better; looking pretty weak and not feeling very supportive from his environment. He will land his share of punches tho, as his brain power is fairly strong.
Giving this to Rigondeaux, late round KO.
